Hallgrimskirkja Church is the largest church in Iceland and quite the landmark in Reykjavik. It stands 244 feet (74.5 m) tall and can be scene from just about everywhere. I start with it because it was one of the first places we visited after arriving in Iceland. A beautiful statue of Leifur Eirikson sets in front. I will mention that if you visit Hallgrimskirkja you would be remiss to not stop across the street at Cafe Loki for some Rye Bread ice cream. Hallgrimskirkja is a living church with services so be mindful.
